Fesler Manuscript

The David R. Fesler Manuscript, which stands 75 centimeters tall and 56 centimeters wide, was written for use by members of one of the religious orders of the followers of St. Francis of Assisi. This manuscript contains the music in Gregorian chant for the principal worship services of the day : Vespers (at twilight), Matins (about 2:00 a.m.), and Lauds (sunrise). Only the offices (services) for the most widely revered of the many Franciscan saints are included in this volume. Several additional volumes of this size were required to provide for the choral offices of the saints.
